One Book, One Philadelphia Graphic Art Contest

Have you read Persepolis yet? This celebrated graphic novel is this year’s One Book, One Philadelphia selection, and there is a juried competition based on the novel for students attending Philadelphia’s art colleges and universities. The series of graphic novels, now compiled into one book, detail the author’s life experiences from growing up during the war between Iran and Iraq to making a new life as an adult in France.

The contest’s challenge is to “share your story though a graphic medium” in the form of a memoir or a narrative. Just make sure it’s in black and white (as is Persepolis) and no larger than 11 x 14.

Entries are due January 28th, and the winning submissions will be displayed in the Galleries at Moore!

See for additional information regarding the required entry forms and waivers. The library has several copies of Persepolis available for your viewing pleasure!
