Celebrate Black History Month!

February is Black History Month–celebrate by reading a good book! This month’s book display showcases just a few of the many books and DVDs the library owns on black art history.

Do you have an assignment on an African American artist and are looking for some prolific names? Try this entry from Grove Art Online on the Harlem Renaissance to begin. Grove Art Online is a great database for biographical and background information on artists, periods, and terms (note: if you  are off-campus, you will need to log in with the library’s username and password for electronic resources).

Finally, if you want to read a book for Black History Month but don’t know where to start, just ask and the librarians will be happy to make a recommendation!
