QR Codes in the Library

Creating Digital Art: Beautiful Traps QR Code Art Project by Yiying Lu.

For “Beautiful Traps” illustrator Yiying Lu uses watercolors to incorporate QR codes into illustrations of women wearing hats that feature exotic carnivorous plants. These QR codes are fully functional and can be scanned by a mobile device to link to Lu’s website.

QR – or quick response – codes are 2d barcodes used to display text, contact information, or link to a webpage. With a smartphone or tablet equipped with a QR reader app, you can scan QR codes to access and save information regarding an item, an event, or in this case, an artist. Look for QR codes in the Library next semester!
