181cover

3D World is the last in our series highlighting recent additions to the Library’s journal collection. Similar to last month’s ImagineFX, 3D World is also published by Future PLC but with a focus on CG artists, covering animation, visual effects, games, illustration and architecture. Each month 3D World analyzes the latest trends, offers artistic and technical advice, product reviews, and behind-the-scenes articles on current projects in the industry.

Issue 181, May 2014 includes:

  • “The Pro Guide to… Better Portfolios” — Refine your art and animation as industry experts share their experiences, advice, and examples of standout portfolios
  • “Put Yourself in the Frame” — Editor Ian Dean speaks to art directors from film, animation and video games who reveal how to get noticed and land your dream job
  • Tutorials offered: Create Hair and Fur; Core Skills, Colour Theory; Lighting Materials with LightWave; Vehicle Modelling — and more!
  • “The real versus the reel” — Artist and writer Renee Dunlop take a look at the work of Douglas Trumbull and other pioneers’ research on the Persistence of Vision

Be sure to check out 3D World’s website for more news, how-to’s, and reviews!

Some date back as far as the mid-1800s through present day. The artists are largely alumni or faculty of Moore College. The selections you see above are ca. 1920, painted by members of the Philadelphia 10, a prominent group of woman artists who worked and exhibited together regularly. #artschool #librariesofinstagram #philadelphia #womenartists #oilpaintings Stop in and checkout our #PrideMonth book display 🌈, including this classic by #AudreLorde. #zami #biomythography #librariesofinstagram #happypride #libraryatmoorebooks #saturdaysuggestions Fun Cover Friday: We love this Vitamin P3 book cover!
